US Declares RSF Committed Crimes Against Humanity in Darfur

The US government formally determined that RSF and allied militias committed crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing in Darfur. Secretary of State Blinken announced sanctions on RSF leader Hemedti and other RSF commanders. The determination stopped short of the genocide designation that would come in January 2025.
