UN Security Council Demands Immediate Ceasefire in Sudan

The UN Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2736 demanding an immediate cessation of hostilities in Sudan, humanitarian access, and protection of civilians. The resolution condemned attacks on civilians and aid workers. Neither the SAF nor RSF complied, and fighting intensified across Khartoum and Darfur through May and June 2023.
