Jeddah Peace Talks Begin Under US-Saudi Mediation

SAF and RSF envoys met in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, under US and Saudi mediation. The talks produced several short-lived agreements on humanitarian access and protecting civilians, but fighting continued throughout. The RSF refused to evacuate Khartoum's residential neighborhoods it had seized. Multiple rounds of talks through May and June produced no lasting ceasefire.
