Resistance Mine Attack on Military Column Near Thayetchaung Sparks Indiscriminate Junta Fire, Kills Civilian

Resistance forces mined a military column entering Thayetchaung Township, Tanintharyi Region, in the early morning of September 8, 2026. In response, junta troops fired artillery, small arms and drones indiscriminately into the surrounding area; a 59-year-old woman, Daw Yin Myint of Thayet Hnit Khwa village, was struck and later died from blood loss.
