NUG Marks Fifth Anniversary of 'People's Defensive War', Awards Honors to 1,792 Resistance Members

The National Unity Government held a ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on September 7, 2026 marking the fifth anniversary of its declaration of the 'People's Defensive War' and the establishment of the People's Defence Force. More than 300 people attended, including NUG Acting President Duwa Lashi La and Prime Minister Mahn Win Khaing Than, along with CRPH/NUCC representatives, federal-unit governments, allied resistance organizations, and PDF/PDO commanders and fighters. The NUG presented military honors, medals and decorations to 1,792 resistance members across five categories, including one Hero of the People's Revolution award, 21 People's Revolution Hero awards, 1,647 People's Martyr awards, 81 People's Good Son awards and 42 Revolutionary Service medals.
