Junta Jet Bombs Thandwe's Ward No. 8, Killing Elderly Woman
A junta fighter jet struck Ward No. 8 of Thandwe town, Rakhine State, at around 10:30 a.m. on September 7, 2026, dropping two 300-pound bombs and strafing the area with machine-gun fire. An elderly woman was killed and three civilians were seriously injured; six homes were damaged. The strike came as junta air and naval forces continued bombarding Thandwe and Gwa townships, with warships shelling Gwa, Kyeintali and Gyeik Taw areas from offshore positions since September 3.
