KIA/KPDF Recapture Lonton Camp Near Indawgyi, Kachin State

The Kachin Independence Army and Kachin People's Defence Force jointly recaptured Lonton camp (lost to junta forces in June) in the Indawgyi area, Mohnyin Township, Kachin State, from combined junta and Southern Alliance-militia (SNA) forces on July 17, 2026, inflicting heavy casualties. Weapons, ammunition, and electronic jamming equipment were seized or destroyed; six SNA militia bodies were recovered and given Buddhist burials on July 18.
