Junta Airstrikes on Karenni and Northern Shan States Kill At Least 12

| Myanmar

Two separate junta airstrikes killed at least 12 people on July 14, 2026: an afternoon airstrike on Kyaukme, a TNLA-controlled town in northern Shan State, killed 5 people, while an airstrike near a mining site in Hpasawng Township, Karenni (Kayah) State, killed at least 7. Separately, three junta aircraft dropped 14 bombs across three locations in eastern Loikaw Township — two IDP camps and one civilian village — at around 5:00pm, killing a 50-year-old displaced woman with shrapnel and destroying multiple houses and vehicles; no prior clashes were reported in the area, indicating direct targeting of civilian and IDP sites.
