SAC Jets Kill 4 Civilians, Wound 13 in Mutraw District — Junior College at Dae Bu Noh Destroyed
On April 15, 2026, Myanmar Air Force jets attacked a village area in Mutraw (Papun) District, Kayin (Karen) State — KNU-administered Kawthoolei territory — killing four civilians and wounding 13. A separate strike destroyed a building at Dae Bu Noh junior college; the school had previously relocated twice due to prior attacks and continued to operate despite sustained SAC targeting of educational infrastructure. The strikes fell as the Thingyan Water Festival continued across Myanmar, consistent with the SAC's documented pattern of targeting communities during Buddhist holidays. Mutraw District has been under KNU administration since 2021, and the SAC has systematically targeted civilian infrastructure including schools, hospitals, and churches in KNU-held territories to disrupt resistance governance and services. ACLED has recorded over 150 strikes on educational facilities since the 2021 coup.
