Soviet Union Invades Poland from the East

Sixteen days after Germany's invasion, the Soviet Red Army invaded Poland from the east pursuant to the secret Molotov–Ribbentrop protocol. Facing enemies on two fronts and no effective international aid, Polish forces were overwhelmed. Poland was partitioned between Germany and the USSR by September 28.
