Aerial Attack Destroys Two WFP Food Trucks Bound for Kadugli Outside Dilling, South Kordofan

The World Food Programme said an aerial attack on August 30, 2026 destroyed two clearly marked WFP trucks carrying more than 50 metric tonnes of food — cereals, yellow split peas, vegetable oil, and salt — outside Dilling, South Kordofan state, enough to have fed roughly 5,800 people for a month. The convoy was en route to famine-hit Kadugli, where WFP supports nearly 58,000 people facing emergency-level food insecurity. WFP did not attribute the strike to either the Sudanese army or the RSF, saying only that it was the eighth aerial attack on its operations in Sudan since January 2026, and called on all parties to uphold international humanitarian law and protect aid workers and humanitarian assets.
