Sudan SAF Military Intelligence Delegation Holds Security Talks with Libya in Tripoli
A Sudanese military intelligence delegation led by Lt. Gen. Mohamed Ali Sabir traveled to Tripoli on April 5 for security and military cooperation talks with the Libyan Government of National Unity's Chief of General Staff, Lt. Gen. Salahuddin al-Namroush. Both sides agreed to enhance intelligence sharing, strengthen joint border security coordination, and expand military training exchange programs. The talks reflect SAF's ongoing effort to build regional alliances and counter UAE-facilitated RSF supply networks operating through eastern Libya and the Haftar-controlled Libyan National Army territory. Sudan's SAF government has accused Khalifa Haftar's Libyan National Army, which operates in eastern Libya under UAE patronage, of facilitating UAE arms and supply transfers to RSF across the Libyan-Sudanese border corridor. The Tripoli meeting represented an attempt to use the western Libya government as a counterbalancing diplomatic partner. Sudan-Libya border security cooperation has grown in importance as analysts identify the eastern Libya-Sudan land corridor as a key RSF resupply route for UAE-supplied materiel.
