RSF Drone Strikes Kill 10 at Al-Jabalain Hospital, White Nile State; 7 Medical Staff Among Dead

| Sudan Conflict

RSF forces launched two drone strikes against Al-Jabalain Hospital in White Nile State on April 3, directly striking the operating theater and maternity ward and killing at least 10 people, including seven medical staff. At least 19 more people were wounded in the attack. The strikes occurred during an ongoing children's immunization vaccination campaign being conducted at the hospital, killing and wounding medical personnel involved in the campaign. The critically injured were transferred approximately 50–80 km north to a hospital in Kosti, the White Nile State capital. MSF, Doctors Without Borders, and The Washington Post reported the strikes. The RSF denied responsibility. The attack brought the total number of documented healthcare facility attacks in Sudan since April 2023 well above 213. The Al-Jabalain attack occurred in SAF-controlled White Nile State, confirming RSF's continued ability to strike deep into SAF rear areas with drone warfare despite overall RSF territorial setbacks in Khartoum and Gezira. The strike on a maternity ward during an immunization campaign drew immediate condemnation from UN agencies as a potential war crime.
