MSF Issues Formal Condemnation of Al-Jabalain Hospital Drone Strikes; RSF Also Hit Rabak Medical Depot

| Sudan Conflict

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF/Doctors Without Borders) issued a formal public statement on April 4 condemning the RSF drone strikes on Al-Jabalain Hospital in White Nile State that occurred on April 3, calling the attacks a 'flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.' MSF confirmed it had been supporting the hospital at the time of the strikes, which killed at least 10 people including 7 medical staff and wounded 19 others during an active children's immunization campaign. MSF also disclosed that a concurrent RSF drone attack struck a medical supply depot in Rabak, the White Nile State capital, further degrading healthcare capacity in SAF-controlled White Nile State. MSF called on all parties to respect medical facilities and personnel as protected under the Geneva Conventions. The Al Jazeera report on the same day noted that international humanitarian organizations described the attacks as 'deliberate targeting' of healthcare infrastructure, a pattern that WHO has documented in 213+ attacks since April 2023. The strikes drew renewed calls from UN agencies and medical organizations for accountability. The OHCHR had warned in March 2026 of a 'surge in deadly drone attacks on civilians in Kordofan and White Nile State.'
