Dilling Siege Enters Day 3; Habila Road Remains Severed as Commodities Disappear
As of March 30, the RSF-SPLM-N siege of Dilling, South Kordofan entered its third day, with the al-Tukma area (7 km east) remaining under allied force control and the road connecting Dilling to Habila completely severed. Basic commodities — sugar, onions, legumes, and edible oil — had disappeared from local markets, with prices for rice and sorghum reaching record highs. The Sudan Doctors Network, citing the example of El Fasher where the RSF killed over 6,000 people in three days after capture, warned Dilling faced a 'catastrophic scenario.' Local resistance leader Abdelrahman Hammad called for urgent international intervention to break the siege. SAF drones continued striking RSF-SPLM-N positions on the mountain range west of Dilling, but failed to restore ground access to the city. At least 28 civilians with serious to moderate wounds remained hospitalized at Dilling Hospital from the March 28-29 shelling.
