RSF Drone Kills 17 in Chadian Border Town of Tine During Ramadan Iftar

An RSF drone originating from Sudan struck the Chadian border town of Tine, killing 17 people. Victims were local residents gathered for a Ramadan Iftar meal according to Sudan Tribune and Radio Dabanga, while Reuters reported the gathering was a funeral. Chad's President Mahamat Déby condemned the strike as 'outrageous and excessive aggression' against Chad's territorial integrity, ordered military retaliation against any future aggression, dispatched explosives experts on March 19 to determine the source of the attack, and ordered the total closure of the 1,300 km Sudan-Chad border with deployment of approximately 200 military vehicles. The RSF also carried out a separate cross-border attack into Chad pursuing a JDF unit, killing seven Chadian soldiers at the Birak garrison near Tiné Djagaraba.
