OHCHR: 200+ Civilians Killed by Drones Since March 4 in Kordofan and White Nile

| Sudan Conflict

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk stated he was appalled by the devastating impact on civilians from increasing drone attacks, noting reports that more than 200 civilians had been killed by drones since March 4 alone in the Kordofan region and White Nile State. OHCHR documented that more than 500 civilians were killed in drone strikes from January 1 to March 15 across Sudan, the vast majority in three Kordofan states. The High Commissioner urged both parties to stop using increasingly powerful drones to deploy explosive weapons in populated areas, warning continued patterns of such attacks may amount to war crimes.
