Day 786: Windshield Washer Shot Dead at Villa Unión Gas Station — Second Killing at Same Site in 9 Days

At around 7:45 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2026, armed men in a black vehicle shot and killed a windshield washer working at a gas station at the intersection of Boulevard Niños Héroes and the free Mazatlán–Durango highway, at the southern exit of Villa Unión, Mazatlán. The victim, wearing a plaid long-sleeved shirt, died at the scene before emergency responders arrived. It was the second fatal shooting at the same gas station in nine days, following the September 8 killing of 59-year-old motorcyclist Guillermo Artemio at the same location.
