Day 786: Armed Pursuit in Mazatlán's El Toreo Neighborhood Leaves Motorcyclist and Driver Dead

Around 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2026, gunmen on a motorcycle pursued a white Toyota Yaris along Calle Jesús Solórzano near Avenida La Marina in the El Toreo neighborhood of Mazatlán, firing roughly 11 shots at the driver, identified as Abraham 'N'. During the attack, a hotel cook named Edwin 'N', who was riding his own motorcycle on the same street, was struck and killed by a stray bullet. Abraham was taken to the General Hospital, where he died of his wounds hours later. The Fiscalía General del Estado had not confirmed whether the two killings were connected to a targeted pursuit.
