Day 787: Ride-Share Passenger Shot Dead Near Elementary School in Culiacán's Fovissste Humaya

At approximately 9:15 AM on Friday, September 18, 2026, a 34-year-old man identified as Jesús Gilberto, a resident of the Lomas de Guadalupe neighborhood, was riding as a rear passenger in a white Renault ride-share vehicle at the intersection of Dr. Enrique Cabrera and SARH streets in the Fovissste Humaya neighborhood, north Culiacán — a few meters from a primary school. A motorcyclist pulled alongside the car and fired directly at him, killing him at the scene; the driver was unharmed. Reports indicated Jesús Gilberto had requested the ride from the Las Vegas neighborhood after being summoned to the location by another person.
