WTC North Tower Collapses

The North Tower collapses 102 minutes after being struck by Flight 11, killing hundreds more people and additional first responders who had been conducting rescue operations inside. The collapse creates a massive debris field that damages or destroys several surrounding buildings. FDNY loses 343 firefighters and paramedics in total that morning — the largest loss of firefighters in history from a single incident.
