Junta Airstrike Damages KIA-Controlled Sinkhan Bridge Over the Ayeyarwady, Bhamo Township

| Myanmar

The junta carried out an airstrike on the afternoon of September 6, 2026 against Sinkhan Bridge, a KIA-controlled Ayeyarwady River crossing in Bhamo Township, Kachin State, damaging the bridge deck, steel framework and side stairways. The strike is part of the regime's push to reopen the Shwegu-Sinkhan road and river route to resupply its isolated garrisons in Bhamo, after its Ayeyarwady flotilla lost eight vessels and over 100 personnel to a KIA-PDF ambush along the same stretch on September 2.
