Junta Jets Bomb Two Karenni State Villages Along Loikaw-Shadaw Road, Killing 9 Civilians
Around 11 a.m. on September 5, 2026, a junta jet carried out an airstrike on Naung Pa Lu village along the Loikaw-Shadaw road in Karenni (Kayah) State, killing 5 civilians and wounding 8 others. Roughly two hours later, junta aircraft bombed and strafed Naung Pyuu village in Shadaw Township near the Shan-Karenni border, killing 4 civilians including two children, wounding more than 20 people, and damaging six houses. The strikes came three days after Karenni resistance forces captured the junta's Light Infantry Battalion 530 position east of Loi Htwe village on September 2, killing roughly 20 SAC soldiers — part of a broader pattern of retaliatory junta airstrikes following resistance battlefield gains in the Karenni theater.
