Seven Surviving Junta Vessels Reach Bhamo With Fuel and Reinforcements After Losing Eight Vessels
Two combat ships and five cargo vessels of the junta's battered Ayeyarwady River flotilla docked in Bhamo, Kachin State on September 3, 2026, after breaking through the KIA-PDF ambush along the Zinbon-Sinkhan stretch — completing a resupply run that began August 21 from Mandalay's Gaw Wein jetty with 15 vessels. Eight vessels were lost, sunk, damaged, or surrendered to resistance forces along the way. "If this flotilla hadn't made it, the junta troops here would have been in serious trouble," a Bhamo-based resistance fighter told BNI.
