Junta Warships and Jets Hit Seven Villages Across Ponnagyun, Sittwe and Rathedaung Townships, Rakhine State
Junta warships shelled coastal areas around Kyeintali and Ngapali in Thandwe District around 11:02 a.m. on September 3, 2026, before four jet fighters carried out roughly 30 minutes of continuous bombing runs beginning around 1:35 p.m. over villages at the border junction of Ponnagyun, Sittwe and Rathedaung townships in Arakan (Rakhine) State — including Kwun Taung, Kon Tan Kyein Chaung, Makka La, Nyo Yaung, Min Hla, Moe Se Kyein, Kyet Yoe Seik and Nyaung Pin Gyi. The wave broke a roughly month-long lull in bombardment around the state capital. The United League of Arakan (ULA) urged residents across Arakan State to maintain heightened vigilance for further air raids and naval artillery, warning attacks "could occur at any time."
