Junta Jet Bombs Kyeintali Town, Killing 8 Civilians Including Two Children

Around 11:30pm on August 13, 2026, a junta fighter jet dropped two bombs into a residential neighborhood on Maytta Paung Ku Street, Ward 1, Kyeintali Town, Gwa Township, Rakhine State — an area under Arakan Army control since December 2024 with no ground combat underway. Eight civilians were killed instantly inside their homes: Daw Khin Moe Shwe (60), Daw Khin Sandar Tun (45), U Tun Lin (46), Ma Phyo Phyo Kyaw (36), Maung Min Wai Khant (35), Ma Win Ei Kyaw (26), and two children, Maung Nyan Lin Thant (12) and Maung Nay Lin Thant (7). Five houses and a motor tricycle were destroyed. A separate junta jet bombed nearby Kaing Khon village the same night (10:55pm) with no reported casualties.
