Junta Drone Kills Woman in Sintku, Mandalay Region; KNLA Kills 5 Junta Soldiers in Thatone, Mon State

A junta drone strike on a village in Sintku Township, Mandalay Region, killed one woman and injured two civilians on July 23, 2026. The same day, in Thatone Township, Mon State, the KNLA clashed with junta forces, killing 5 junta soldiers. Separately, a mine attack on a police station in Insein Township, Yangon, injured one junta police member, and NUG-aligned local administration in Tamu Township, Sagaing Region, called for a temporary evacuation of residents due to heavy fighting. A Mizzima roundup also reported 37 junta defections and 9 soldiers captured as prisoners of war during the second week of July.
