KIA Seizes Two Junta Outposts in Kachin State — 20+ Killed

The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) seized two military outposts in Khaunglanhpu (Putao District) and around Shwegu Township, Kachin State, between July 10-12, 2026, capturing approximately 20 firearms along with ammunition and supplies, and taking militia prisoners. More than 20 junta soldiers and allied militia were reportedly killed in the operations. Fighting continued in Shwegu as junta reinforcements moved to the area.
