Four Unidentified Bodies Found at Hpakant Junction — Gunshot and Blunt Force Wounds
On April 14, four unidentified male bodies were discovered at the Ma Shi Ka Htaung junction in Hpakant Township, Kachin State — in the same neighborhood that had been the epicenter of SAC airstrikes and KIA drone operations on April 13. The victims displayed gunshot wounds and blunt force injuries consistent with summary execution, though their identities and exact circumstances of death remain unverified. The discovery follows ongoing intense fighting between KIA/KPDF and SAC forces in Hpakant since April 11. The area had seen three days of sustained aerial and ground combat when the bodies were found; access restrictions and ongoing military operations prevented independent investigation. Unidentified bodies found in active combat zones in Hpakant represent a recurring pattern in Kachin State's conflict — victims may include civilians caught in fighting, combatants, or individuals detained and executed by either side. The Kachin War Documentation Team and local CDM networks reported the discovery.
