Battle of Concepción

Near the mission Concepción outside San Antonio, James Bowie and James Fannin's Texan force used the natural terrain to repel a larger Mexican force under General Cos. Texan riflemen inflicted heavy casualties while suffering minimal losses, demonstrating that irregular Texan tactics could defeat regular Mexican troops in the field.
