Mumbai Train Bombings — 209 Killed
Seven coordinated bomb blasts struck Mumbai's commuter rail system on July 11, 2006 during peak hours, killing 209 people and wounding over 700. Indian investigators attributed the attacks to Pakistani militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba with assistance from the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). The attacks suspended the Composite Dialogue process.
