First Clinical Trial for Bundibugyo Ebola Treatments Begins in DRC

| Ebola

The PARTNERS clinical trial enrolled its first patient on 2 July 2026, testing the monoclonal antibody MBP134 and the antiviral remdesivir — alone and in combination — as treatments for Bundibugyo virus disease, for which no approved therapeutic exists. It is the first randomized controlled trial ever conducted for BDBV. More than 1,200 treatment doses were reported available for the trial as it began enrolling patients at DRC treatment centers.
