Revolution Wind Completes Installation of All 65 Turbines Off Rhode Island

Ørsted and Skyborn Renewables announced on September 18, 2026 that installation of all 65 turbines at the 704 MW Revolution Wind farm is complete, roughly 15 miles east of Block Island in federal waters off Rhode Island. The $4 billion project began delivering partial power to the New England grid in March 2026 and is expected to reach full commercial operation later this year, supplying 400 MW to Rhode Island and 304 MW to Connecticut -- enough for more than 350,000 homes and businesses combined. Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee said completion means 'more energy produced in our own backyard, good-paying union jobs, and a stronger, more reliable energy supply for Rhode Island families and businesses.' The milestone follows two Trump administration stop-work orders that had halted construction when the project was already about 80% complete, before courts and negotiations allowed work to resume.
