Brugada Unveils Ley de Justicia Cívica Reform to Expand Civic Courts and Community Mediation

Jefa de Gobierno Clara Brugada announced, as the Congreso CDMX opened its ordinary session period, that she will send lawmakers an initiative reforming the Ley de Justicia Cívica. The proposal would restructure the city's civic courts around public hearings, promote peaceful and community-based mediation for everyday neighborhood conflicts, and intervene 'from the territory' before disputes escalate into violence, alongside a renewed push for civic-rules education.
