Fiscalía CDMX Secures 8 Disputed Properties, Returns 6 to Owners in Anti-Despojo Operation Naming Los Tanzanios
The Fiscalía General de Justicia CDMX carried out a operative day against property dispossession ('despojo'), securing eight properties under active investigation and returning six others to owners who proved rightful title. Recoveries spanned Iztapalapa, Tláhuac, Azcapotzalco, Gustavo A. Madero and Xochimilco, with belongings handed over in Benito Juárez, Venustiano Carranza and Cuauhtémoc. Fiscal General Bertha Alcalde confirmed that Los Tanzanios, the Cártel de Tláhuac and Los Rodolfos are the criminal cells most active in despojo citywide. Among the cases was a Leyes de Reforma (Iztapalapa) property seized from its owner in March 2023 by armed men claiming to belong to Los Tanzanios, and a Gustavo A. Madero home recovered by two brothers after a person posing as a charity representative gained their trust, expelled them, and installed surveillance cameras to block their return.
