Eight Detained in Two Cuauhtémoc Raids, Six Identified as Unión Tepito Members Carrying Guns and Drugs

SSC officers carried out two separate operations in the Cuauhtémoc borough on August 24. In Colonia Obrera, surveillance led to the arrest of two men, Isaac 'N' and Sergio 'N', found with a long firearm loaded with four rounds and marijuana. Separately, a fight and pursuit in the Morelos neighborhood and Centro Histórico ended with the arrest of six more suspects — Édgar Ramsés 'N', Marvin 'N', Jeshua Farid 'N', Jean Iván 'N', Neitan Jared 'N', and Yair 'N' — carrying a handgun and envelopes of suspected narcotics. Public Safety Secretary Pablo Vázquez Camacho identified all six as presumed members of La Unión Tepito, the criminal cell at the center of the ongoing turf war with the Anti-Unión faction that has killed 24 people in the Centro Histórico so far in 2026.
