Gunfire as Escorts Foil Attempted Robbery of C5 Coordinator Salvador Guerrero Chiprés in Colonia Juárez

C5 (Centro de Comando, Control, Cómputo, Comunicaciones y Contacto Ciudadano) coordinator general Salvador Guerrero Chiprés was traveling with three SSC escorts at the intersection of Abraham González and Avenida Morelos, in the Juárez neighborhood, Cuauhtémoc borough, on the afternoon of August 11 when two men attempted to rob the vehicle. His escorts got out and fired shots to deter the assailants, then pursued and detained one — a 24-year-old man found carrying a replica firearm and a cell phone. He was read his rights and turned over to the Ministerio Público. Guerrero Chiprés was unharmed and went on to attend a scheduled public event at the Zócalo with Jefa de Gobierno Clara Brugada.
