TNRD and SLRD Downgrade Remaining Pear Lake-Area Evacuation Orders to Alerts

Effective 4 p.m. Sept 3, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District downgraded its last two evacuation orders — one property on West Pavilion Road tied to the French Bar Creek fire, and the no-addressed-property Pavilion Mountain area (south of Kelly Lake and Clinton) tied to the Pear Lake fire — to evacuation alerts. The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District downgraded its own Pear Lake-area order the same day. 142 addressed properties in TNRD Electoral Areas E and I remain under evacuation alert, and evacuation orders issued separately by the Whispering Pines/Clinton Indian Band and Stswecem'c Xget'tem First Nation for their own lands remained in effect. Pear Lake is mapped at roughly 166,132 hectares.
