Pear Lake, Ainslie Creek and Brunswick Creek Fires Lose 'Wildfire of Note' Status
BC Wildfire Service removed the Pear Lake fire (166,131.9 ha, near Clinton) and the Boston Bar-area complex — Ainslie Creek (67,722.48 ha) and Brunswick Creek (9,266.86 ha) — from its 'wildfires of note' list as of Sept 3, with Ainslie Creek and Brunswick Creek both classified as being held. Much of Pear Lake's perimeter is now secure, though heat remains within it and the fire is still officially out of control amid extreme drought conditions in soil and timber across the area. Evacuation orders and alerts remain in effect across several regional districts and First Nations for both fire areas. BC Wildfire Service reported 355 firefighters, 5 structure-protection personnel, 48 heavy equipment units and 10 helicopters assigned to Pear Lake.
