Artemis I Launches — First SLS/Orion Flight

Artemis I lifted off from Launch Complex 39B at 01:47:44 UTC (8:47 PM EST November 15), generating approximately 8.8 million pounds of thrust — 15% more than Saturn V. Ten CubeSats were deployed after trans-lunar injection. This was the first flight of SLS, the first integrated flight of SLS and Orion together, and the first NASA deep-space human-rated spacecraft launch since Apollo 17 in December 1972.
