Tripartite Pact — Axis Alliance Formalized

Germany, Italy, and Japan signed the Tripartite Pact in Berlin, formalizing the Axis alliance. The pact created a mutual defense obligation and divided spheres of influence: Europe under Germany and Italy, Asia under Japan. Spain, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia later adhered to the pact.
