US-China Tariff Truce Extended as Xi Jinping Arrives for State Visit

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced the US-China tariff truce would be extended two months, to Jan. 10, 2027, hours before Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan arrived at Joint Base Andrews for a state visit. The arrival ceremony included a B-1 bomber flyover and a 21-gun salute.
