Xi Jinping's State Visit; US-China Tariff Truce Extended

Chinese President Xi Jinping made a state visit to Washington, arriving Sept. 23 to a ceremony with a B-1 bomber flyover, and was hosted by Trump at a White House state dinner Sept. 24 attended by dozens of tech executives. Hours before the arrival, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced the US-China tariff truce would be extended two months, to Jan. 10, 2027, to allow more time for a broader trade deal.
