Ukrainian SOF Drones Destroy Iskander Missile Storage Base in Occupied Crimea
Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SOF) launched drone strikes overnight on April 28, hitting a storage base for Russian Iskander operational-tactical missile systems in occupied Crimea. The facility, located near the village of Ovrazhki approximately 40 km from Simferopol on the grounds of a former Soviet missile base, housed Iskander missiles capable of striking Ukrainian frontlines or rear cities within minutes. The strike set off fires and secondary explosions at the storage depot, significantly disrupting Russia's Iskander missile supply chain for the southern theater. Ukraine's sustained campaign against Russian missile and ammunition storage in Crimea aims to reduce Russia's capacity to conduct large-scale strikes against Ukrainian cities.
