| Ukraine

Ukraine's General Staff reported 182 combat engagements on April 27 — the 40th anniversary of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster — as Russian forces intensified pressure across multiple front sectors. The Pokrovsk direction was the most intense, with 38 attacks repelled toward Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, and nearby settlements. The Huliaipole direction saw 22 assault operations in Zaliznychne, Myrne, and Charivne. Russia carried out 43 airstrikes, deployed over 3,600 kamikaze drones, and fired over 1,500 artillery rounds at Ukrainian positions. Ukrainian forces neutralized over 190 UAVs and destroyed Russian armor and personnel in multiple sectors. Over 80 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded in the Pokrovsk direction alone. Euronews reported at least 21 killed across Ukraine and Russia in the mutual exchange of strikes on the Chernobyl anniversary.
