Ukraine's SSO Hits Novy Urengoy Gas Plant 3,200 km Away — Deepest Strike of the War

| Ukraine War

Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SSO) struck the Novy Urengoy Gas Condensate Treatment Plant in Russia's Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug on September 9 — a target roughly 3,200 km from the Ukrainian border, the deepest strike of the full-scale war, surpassing the July 2026 Omsk refinery strike (~2,500 km). Ukrainian defense manufacturer Fire Point said its FP-1 attack drones flew through Russian-controlled airspace and multiple layers of electronic warfare without using GPS to reach the target. It was the first time Ukrainian forces struck the Yamalo-Nenets region. No map coordinates are plotted for this event as the target lies far outside this tracker's Ukraine-theater map bounds.
