Russia Fires North Korean Missiles at Zaporizhzhia, Kills 6; Nationwide Barrage Hits Kyiv Children's Hospital Grounds
Russia launched a large-scale overnight attack using North Korean KN-23 ballistic missiles, Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles, and guided aerial bombs, killing at least 12 people nationwide. Zaporizhzhia was hit hardest — 6 killed and 19+ wounded as strikes damaged four apartment buildings, sparked fires, and knocked out power. Ukrainian officials also reported deaths in Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions from the same barrage. In Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district, ballistic missile debris struck the grounds of a children's hospital (children and staff were sheltering; no casualties there) and a warehouse caught fire. President Zelensky said the strikes were "calculated to inflict maximum damage specifically on civilian infrastructure" and accused Russia of again using North Korean-supplied missiles.
