Russia Strikes Odesa Port and Energy Grid, Zelensky Cites Threat to Food Security
Alongside overnight strikes across multiple oblasts, Russian ballistic, anti-ship, and anti-radar missiles plus 200+ Shahed drones struck Odesa's port and energy infrastructure on August 9, wounding eight and knocking out power to over 128,000 households in the region. President Zelenskyy said the strike on the Black Sea grain-export hub showed Russia is "systematically waging war against global food security." The same nationwide barrage killed two in Kharkiv's Saltivskyi district, one in Kherson region, and wounded nine (including four children) in Pavlohrad; six civilians were also killed in a Ukrainian strike on Belgorod, Russia.
