Double-Tap Drone Strike Kills Grandparents and Grandchild Near Kyiv

A Russian double-tap drone strike on the village of Pukhivka in the Brovary district, near Kyiv, killed a grandfather, grandmother, and their three-year-old grandson on August 8. Separately, six Russian ballistic missiles targeted Kyiv overnight, killing one more person and wounding several as explosions rocked the capital. Aid officials warned Russia is compressing the time between missile launches in the same area, leaving civilians less time to reach shelter. Ukraine's General Staff reported 142 combat engagements, seven missiles, and 269 drones destroyed or suppressed nationwide that day.
