Army Trucks Remove Bodies Overnight
Multiple witnesses report military trucks removing bodies from the plaza throughout the night of October 2–3. The government initially acknowledges only 30 dead. Survivors and journalists who attempted to document the scene were arrested or expelled. Bodies are alleged to have been transported to Campo Militar No. 1 and subsequently disposed of — some accounts claim dumped at sea. This removal of evidence is central to why the true death toll remains unknown.
